Retreats For You offers a large traditional thatched house iin the tiny village of Sheepwash, deep in the heart of the beautiful North Devon countryside where writers can be free from the distractions of everyday life. If you're struggling to finish your novel - or indeed just start it, we can offer the space and flexibility to fire your imagination. You can choose to get creative in one of our comfortable rooms with kettles and desks, or sit in front of our log fire, or in our quiet garden, to find the inspiration you need to turn your ideas into the written word. Free wifi is available.

As a published writer and freelance journalist Deborah can also offer workshops, exercises and informal opportunities for constructive criticism or reflection on your work.

(Please note afternoon workshops and writing exercises cost an additional £60 for two afternoons and £90 for three afternoons).

Retreats For You isn't exclusively for writers though. We welcome anyone who wants to write, read, paint, or just rest. We also offer massage and beauty treatments from our visiting therapist.

We provide three homecooked meals a day, plus wine with dinner, and unlimited tea, coffee and snacks.

And don't forget that walking in the west country is wonderful. The surrounding countryside is nothing short of glorious - whatever the weather. You can opt for strolls by the river Torridge or North Cornwall cliff top walks. We can suggest routes, and provide the option of a qualified guide (with mountain and mooring first aid certificates). From a two hour walk, with local facts and history, to an all day hike, with orienteering and navigation instruction, we can provide everything you need to make your stay memorable.

We can deliver and collect you from local walks, in our 7 seater and we;ll wave you off with the kind of lunch that boosts body and soul (including a thermos of homemade soup).

On your return slip into the fluffy white bathrobe in your room and take advantage of the complimentary goodies in the guests' bathroom. After dinner, why not join us for a nightcap or make your way to the friendly local pub, just 50 yards from our front door.
