Luxury Cottage Holiday Devon - Romantic Break - Dartmoor - UK
Open log fires, oak-beamed rooms, dreamy views, gorgeous walks and indulgent spa treatments - Moorland View is the perfect romantic hideaway.
This two-bedroomed thatched cottage is in an ancient Devonshire village in the hills of Dartmoor National Park, one of England’s largest wildernesses, and is a top destination for walkers. Strolls take in ancient forests, stone age ruins, head-clearing moorland and picture-perfect 12th century Devonshire hamlets.
Mountain biking, horse riding, fishing and golf are world class, and for beach lovers, the white sandy coves of the South Hams aren't far.
The cottage itself is decorated beautifully, and has a vintage copper bath for two, window seats giving way to inspiring views of the moor, and gadgets galore, including wifi, an Apple Mac computer and a wireless sound system giving access to millions of albums. Molton Brown products, fresh flowers and scented candles are all part of the luxury. Outside is a pretty walled garden filled with roses, honeysuckle and clematis.
Guests have complimentary membership of nearby Bovey Castle country club, with its beautiful pool, golf course and Elemis spa.
North Bovey village is made up of a handful of thatched cottages, a medieval church, oak-shaded green and the cosy Ring of Bells pub, which serves great food and real ales. Tucked away in the hills, the village is incredibly peaceful: the only sounds are birdsong, distant church bells and the occasional clip-clopping of horses' hooves passing by.
Wellington boots, mountain bikes, books, magazines, Sunday papers, board games, dressing gowns, slippers and logs for the fire are provided free of charge.
