Experience Yoga in the home of its origin,India,at beautiful Sanskriti, an Ayurvedic Spa close to the River Ganges in Rishikesh. "Spirit of Yoga" offers unique and quality retreats combining daily Yoga classes with regular Ayurvedic massages and other treatments such as Shirodhara.
The spacious Yoga room has wonderful views of the Ganges and surrounding forested hillsides. The Spa has various treatment rooms, a restaurant, outside terrace and very comfortable bedrooms.
The Yoga teachers are fully trained at kaivalyadham Yoga Institute, Lonavla, India. There is a resident qualified Ayurvedic doctor.
Sanskriti is close to all amenities. Here, the nearby River Ganges flows clean and clear and offers lovely sandy beaches to walk along.

A typical retreat will incorporate twice daily Yoga classes, and some meditation practice. Please see website for full programme.
You will receive regular Ayurvedic massages,and treatments such as Shirodhara,where wamr oil mis dropped slowly on to your forehead. You will have a personal meeting with the resident Ayurvedic doctor to determine which are the most appropriate treatments and massages for your constitution.
There will be excursions to local places of interest, such as Kunjapuri from where it is possible to see the snowcapped Himalaya mountains! Nearby, on the banks of the Ganges the evening Arati is held, where flowers and incense are offered to the Goddess Ganga, to the accompaniment of beautiful mantras and song.

Travel
It is best to fly into Delhi airport. Jet Airways have some good prices for return flights from Heathrow to Delhi.
You arrive at approximately 9.00am and will be brought direct to Rishikesh.
Independent travellers can fly into Delhi and then come on to Rishikesh by taxi or train. If taking the train, take the Satabji express from Delhi to Haridwar, and from there take a taxi to Rishikesh. Detailed travel info will be given on booking yiour retreat.
