The thing about staying here, is that it is always a lot more than a skiing holiday! Powder skiers often have adventures that take them beyond their wildest dreams.  Intermediates and beginners are nurtured and encouraged to try new things, and non-skiers have a wonderful space to ‘be’ with loads of activities to choose from.

Travel

La Source is 5 minutes drive, or 30 minute walk from Samoens and Morillon Village and the ski lifts. We run a free daily shuttle winter and summer.

If you come by train, shared car, hitch or bike we give you a €100 off green travel discount in the winter and €50 off in the summer.

Train - If you are travelling on your own, train travel has ¼ less emissions than flying or driving. The best thing about train travel is that if you leave in the afternoon, you can have dinner in Paris, get the night train and get here by 9am. We’ll pick you up in Cluses, and you can have an extra day on the slopes or in the mountains. Check out www.snowcarbon.co.uk. They are building a Samoens page, but in the meantime, go to their Les Gets details. You'll  get off the train in Cluse!

Car - If there are 4 of you, travelling by car, in a well serviced modern car is even more efficient than the train.

From England try: Folkestone via the Eurotunnel. Dover via  P&O Ferries or Portsmouth via Brittany ferries.

From Scotland you can take the Rosyth-Zeebrugge ferry.

Plane - If flying is your only option, you may be lucky enough to see Mont Blanc bathing in a sea of cloud!

The closest airport is Geneva 42 miles /64 km or 1 hour away. The following airlines provide the best services into Geneva: Easyjet, British Airways,  Air France .

Note - end up in the Swiss side of the Airport; it’s just easier!

Airport Transfer - We run a free Geneva airport shuttle at 3pm on Sunday. Gather in the Airport Jazz Cafe!! We drop off at 2.30pm the following Sunday. Book flights to fit in with these times, otherwise you can call  Dan Dan the Van Man at www.gomassif.com but watch out, in the summer solo transfers cost €120!!

Bike or hitch-hike - If you have a Dream, Live it!

If you do hitch or bike, we’ll give you a ‘Respect’ deal! When you live in a city and are bombarded by a fear culture these may sound like stupid ideas… but over here, we are idealistic and we reckon hitching is way under-rated. The kids round here hitch to school. And as for biking, after helping us renovate this place…, Chris cycled from here to Uni in Wales.. all 1500kms!

Directions from airport - Once you have hired the car, follow signs for France, go through the border, and follow the A40 for Chamonix Mont-Blanc. You will go through 2 tolls which will cost about E3.50. About 30 minutes along the A40 you will be at exit 18 (Cluse). Leave here and follow signs for Samoens which will take about 20 minutes.
